There are more than 5,000 manufactured homes in the metro Richmond area. More families live in this form of affordable housing than in all of Richmond’s public housing units.
In partnership with Chesterfield County, project:HOMES has launched a new initiative to adapt traditional manufactured housing to provide quality, sustainable affordable homeownership opportunities.
In 2020 project:HOMES purchased a manufactured home park in Chester known as Bermuda Estates. Through community engagement and the designing and building of better manufactured homes, project:HOMES aims to provide wealth building opportunities for the current residents of Bermuda Estates and to transform the park into a community asset of sustainable affordable homeownership.
