Coastal Virginia cities are actively updating their Comprehensive Plans. The Comprehensive Plan is the leading policy document guiding the long-range development of local communities in the U.S. and enables local government officials and citizens to anticipate and deal constructively with changes occurring within the community.  This event will be the first of a two-part series, focusing on the Comprehensive Plan updates in Suffolk and Chesapeake (Suffolk 2045 and Chesapeake 2045), and will include major topics that have emerged throughout the planning process, such as growth management, transportation, housing affordability, and navigating rural open space issues.  The program will also cover recent and ongoing comprehensive planning efforts in both cities.  You won’t want to miss it!
